First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looked at ways to improve pain control after laparoscopic colorectal surgery. Researchers tested adding either ketamine or a fentanyl skin patch to a standard nerve block (erector spinae plane block). The goal was to see which combination helped patients go longer before needing additional pain medicine. The study included 120 adults who were in good health aside from needing surgery.
