First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study compares a slow-release painkiller (Exparel) to the standard painkiller (bupivacaine) for pain after eye removal surgery. About 88 adults having their eye removed will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two medications during surgery. The goal is to see if the slow-release version provides better pain control and reduces the need for opioid pain pills in the first few days after surgery.
