First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks back at medical records of 66 women who had a mastectomy to see which pain relief method worked best. It compares standard pain medication, a nerve block called rhomboid intercostal block (RIB), and a combination of RIB with another nerve block. The goal is to find which approach reduces pain and the need for extra painkillers in the first 24 hours after surgery.
