The hidden cost of survival: study probes lingering ICU aftermath
NCT ID NCT06857513
Summary
This study aims to understand the long-term health problems that can develop after a serious stay in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Researchers will interview about 90 former ICU patients who needed a breathing machine for over two days. The goal is to learn how common these lasting issues are, what factors increase the risk, and how they affect a person's quality of life years later.
