Sniffing for a solution: nasal spray tested for lingering COVID smell loss

NCT ID NCT05970731

Summary

This study tested whether a steroid nasal spray (beclomethasone) could improve smell function in people who lost their sense of smell for over 3 months after having COVID-19. Sixteen participants were randomly assigned to receive either the active spray or a placebo spray at two clinic visits. Researchers measured changes in smell ability and quality of life over three months to see if the treatment helped.
