C-Section pain study: spinal drug vs. belly block
NCT ID NCT07374133
First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at 60 women having planned C-sections to compare two pain relief methods: a small dose of morphine given with the spinal anesthetic, and an ultrasound-guided nerve block in the belly wall. The goal was to see which approach better reduces the need for extra pain medicine in the first 24 hours after surgery. Researchers also tracked pain scores, side effects like nausea and itching, and overall recovery quality.
