Electric fields before brain tumor surgery: a new hope?
NCT ID NCT06136611
First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-phase study tests the safety of using Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) — low-intensity electric fields — before surgery and radiation in 42 people with newly diagnosed glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. Participants will wear the device for a short time before standard treatment begins, and researchers will monitor for side effects like skin problems or surgery delays. The goal is to see if adding this step is safe and practical, not yet to prove it works better.
