Do varices banding or injections change liver pressure? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT07253090
Summary
This study aims to understand how two common treatments for swollen veins in the esophagus (varices) affect the pressure inside the liver's blood vessels over the long term. Researchers will measure this pressure using a special ultrasound technique 3-6 months after patients receive either rubber band ligation or injection therapy. The goal is to see which treatment might better control the underlying pressure problem in people with liver cirrhosis.
