Portable 'Liver Care' machine aims to save more lives by improving donor organs
NCT ID NCT04194437
Summary
This study tested a portable machine designed to preserve, improve, and assess donor livers that are currently rarely used for transplants. The goal was to see if keeping these livers functioning outside the body with the machine could make them suitable for transplantation, potentially increasing the number of available organs. The trial involved adult patients waiting for a liver transplant.
