Could a home poo test replace unpleasant colonoscopies for cancer survivors?
NCT ID NCT06689293
Summary
This study is testing whether a simple at-home stool test (FIT) is accurate enough to detect if bowel cancer has returned in people who have had surgery for it. The goal is to see if this easy test could one day help some patients avoid the need for a follow-up colonoscopy, which can be an unpleasant procedure. About 1,000 patients who are due for their standard 3-year check-up colonoscopy will also provide a stool sample to compare the results.
