NCT ID NCT06911346
First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at whether eating more plant-based foods rich in polyphenols (like berries, nuts, and olive oil) or taking polyphenol supplements can help overweight adults lose weight and improve heart health. About 99 adults aged 25-45 with a BMI of 25-35 will follow a reduced-calorie diet for 12 weeks, with some getting extra polyphenol-rich foods, some getting supplements, and others a placebo. Researchers will measure weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, and gut bacteria changes to see which approach works best.
