First seen Jun 15, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 15, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether wrapping preterm babies in a polyethylene bag during central line placement helps prevent dangerous drops in body temperature. The procedure can take 30 minutes to 2 hours, and opening the incubator causes heat loss. Researchers measured temperature changes in 63 premature infants to see if the bag works.
