New freezing technique shows promise for heart rhythm disorder

NCT ID NCT05282823

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tested a device that freezes small areas of heart tissue to stop irregular heartbeats (atrial fibrillation). 295 patients were treated and followed for a year to see if the procedure was safe and prevented heart rhythm problems. The goal is to control the condition, not cure it, as patients may still need monitoring or future treatments.
