Summary
This study tests whether a special type of talk therapy called poetic dignity therapy is practical and helpful for sexual and gender minority (LGBTQ+) patients with cancer who are nearing the end of life. The therapy involves a clinician asking questions to help patients share their life story, which is then turned into a poem they can leave for loved ones. The study aims to enroll 15 adults from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to see if they can complete the process and receive their poem.
