New lung therapy tested to help critically ill pneumonia patients breathe easier
NCT ID NCT07453966
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a special percussive breathing treatment to standard care helps adults with severe pneumonia who are on a breathing machine. Researchers want to see if this extra treatment helps patients get off the ventilator sooner, improves how well their lungs work, and is safe. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care alone or standard care plus the new percussive treatment.
