Massive health record study tests if new vaccine can stop pneumonia

NCT ID NCT07251465

Summary

This study aims to find out how well the PCV20 vaccine prevents pneumonia and other lung infections in adults who are at higher risk. Researchers will use existing health records from over 800,000 Kaiser Permanente members in Southern California, comparing infection rates between those who received the vaccine and those who did not. The study will follow people from 2022 to 2025 without actively enrolling new participants.
