Hidden heart threat: study probes lasting damage from pneumonia
NCT ID NCT06601998
Summary
This study aims to understand why people who survive serious pneumonia, including from COVID-19, have a higher long-term risk of heart disease and poor fitness. Researchers will follow 650 survivors and healthy volunteers for three years, collecting blood and health data to find early warning signs. The goal is to learn how the infection changes the body over time to develop better future treatments and prevention strategies.
