NCT ID NCT07181200
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study aims to see if a simple urine test can accurately diagnose pneumococcal pneumonia in children under 5 in Malawi, where the disease is a leading cause of death. Researchers will test 350 stored urine samples from healthy children and those with pneumonia, comparing results to standard lab methods. If successful, this non-invasive test could replace painful procedures and help track vaccine effectiveness.
