New vaccine strategy could better protect cancer patients from dangerous infections

NCT ID NCT05417165

Summary

This study is testing whether giving pneumococcal vaccines more frequently provides better protection for people with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). The trial will compare the standard 5-year vaccination schedule against more frequent yearly vaccinations in 80 CLL patients who haven't received treatment yet. Researchers want to see if more frequent vaccinations help patients build stronger immune defenses against serious pneumococcal infections.
