New study tests Clot-Busting procedure for severe leg clots

This study compares two treatments for severe blood clots in the leg: a procedure that breaks up and removes the clot (pharmacomechanical thrombolysis) plus standard blood thinners, versus blood thinners alone. About 228 adults with recent, very symptomatic clots will take part. The goal is to see which approach is more cost-effective and reduces long-term complications like post-thrombotic syndrome.
