New chemo combo aims to slow tough-to-treat prostate cancer

Summary
This study tests whether adding a second chemotherapy drug (platinum) to the usual treatment (docetaxel) can slow the growth of advanced prostate cancer that no longer responds to hormone therapy. It is for people whose tumors have certain DNA repair gene changes. About 236 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either docetaxel alone or docetaxel plus platinum. The main goal is to see if the combination helps people live longer.
