Blood test could make leg artery procedures last longer

NCT ID NCT04007055

Summary

This study aimed to see if testing patients' blood response to a common blood thinner (clopidogrel) before a leg artery procedure could lead to better outcomes. Patients scheduled for a stent or balloon procedure in their leg arteries were randomly assigned to either get this special blood test and have their medication adjusted if needed, or to receive standard care without testing. The goal was to see if personalized medication management based on the test would keep the artery open longer and prevent complications.
