Blood-Based injection trial offers new hope for aching knees

NCT ID NCT05765266

Summary

This study tested if a single injection of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), made from a patient's own blood, works better than a standard steroid injection for knee arthritis pain and stiffness. It involved 45 adults with moderate knee arthritis who hadn't gotten enough relief from basic pain medications. Researchers compared the two treatments over a full year to see which was safer and more effective at improving daily activities.
