Own blood used to fight painful jaw bone death

NCT ID NCT07464678

Summary

This study tested if adding a special preparation made from a patient's own blood, called platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), could improve healing after surgery for a painful jaw condition. The condition, caused by certain bone-strengthening medications, leads to exposed bone, pain, and infection. Researchers compared standard surgery to surgery plus PRF in 22 patients to see if it led to better wound healing and fewer complications.
