Blood clue to brain bleed: platelets may predict aneurysm rupture
NCT ID NCT03408379
First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at whether activated platelets (blood cells involved in clotting) are more common in people whose brain aneurysm has burst compared to those with an unruptured aneurysm. Researchers will compare blood samples from 230 patients scheduled for treatment. The goal is to find better ways to predict rupture risk, which currently relies mainly on aneurysm size and location.
