Can garden oils outperform fish oil?

NCT ID NCT07289919

Summary

This study is testing whether plant-based oils from Echium and Ahiflower plants can be good, sustainable alternatives to fish oil for getting omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for heart health. Fifteen healthy young adults will try three different 8-week supplement plans: the two plant oils and a standard fish oil capsule, with breaks in between. Researchers will check their blood before and after each plan to see which oil best raises levels of key omega-3s.
