Do you really need rice and beans at the same meal?
NCT ID NCT07151625
Summary
This study aims to answer a common question about plant-based diets: is it necessary to combine certain plant foods, like grains and legumes, in the same meal to get complete protein? Researchers will compare how the body uses protein when these foods are eaten together versus spread throughout the day. They will measure protein use in 40 healthy young and older adults over several short diet periods.
