First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests whether a diet rich in plant-based protein can help adults aged 55 and older with obesity lose weight while preserving muscle. Two hundred participants will follow a calorie-restricted diet for six months, with either mostly plant or mostly animal protein. Researchers will track weight loss, muscle mass, and overall health to see which approach works best.
