Could placenta tissue patch fix your shoulder for good?

NCT ID NCT07027735

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a special processed tissue from human placentas to a standard rotator cuff repair surgery helps the tendon heal better to the bone. The goal is to see if this reduces the chance of the shoulder re-tearing after surgery. About 120 adults with a full rotator cuff tear will be randomly assigned to get the standard surgery with or without the added tissue patch. Healing will be checked with an MRI one year after surgery.
