Placenta tissue patch tested to heal stubborn diabetic foot wounds

NCT ID NCT07014176

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a special patch made from dehydrated human placenta tissue to standard wound care helps heal diabetic foot ulcers that won't close on their own. About 120 adults with diabetes and a qualifying foot ulcer will be randomly assigned to receive either the placenta tissue plus standard care or standard care alone. The main goal is to see if the placenta tissue helps more wounds achieve complete, skin-covered closure within 12 weeks.
