First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looks at how seeing someone else get effective treatment, along with your own past success or failure with a treatment, can strengthen or weaken the placebo effect for pain and unpleasant images. About 120 healthy adults will be split into four groups to test these factors, using brain scans and ratings. The goal is to understand what makes placebo effects last longer.
