New pill could ease strict PKU diet for thousands

NCT ID NCT06971731

Summary

This study is testing a new oral medication called JNT-517 to see if it can safely and effectively lower blood phenylalanine (Phe) levels in adults with PKU. About 120 participants will take either the study drug or a placebo (a pill with no medicine) for the first six weeks, followed by a longer period where everyone receives the active drug. The main goal is to see how much the drug reduces Phe levels, which could help manage the condition.
