Sniffing out cancer: dogs and AI team up to detect breast cancer from breath

NCT ID NCT07038785

First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026

Summary

This study is testing a new way to detect breast cancer using a breath sample. About 1,200 women scheduled for routine breast cancer screening will breathe into a mask. The samples will be analyzed by trained dogs and an AI system to see if they can accurately identify breast cancer, compared to standard tests like mammograms or biopsies.
