Scientists test machine to stop pilots from blacking out
NCT ID NCT03354234
Summary
This study tested a new training system designed to help military pilots handle the effects of high G-forces, which can cause vision loss and blackouts. Researchers used a special tilting table and leg chamber to safely simulate the blood pressure drops and blood pooling that pilots experience. The goal was to gather data to help select the best candidates for pilot training and understand how to prevent these dangerous in-flight events.
