Pilates and peer support tested to fight diabetes decline in seniors

NCT ID NCT07165119

Summary

This study tested whether a combination of Clinical Pilates exercises, nurse coaching, and peer group meetings could improve overall health for older adults living with type 2 diabetes. Forty-eight participants aged 65 and older were split into different groups to receive one or more of these supports for 12 weeks. Researchers measured changes in anxiety, depression, balance, strength, and diabetes self-management to see if this combined approach helped people better manage their condition and daily life.
