First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested whether an oral iron pill called ferric maltol helps patients recover from anemia after colorectal cancer surgery better than standard care. 40 adults with anemia and colon cancer who had surgery took either the iron pill or received usual care. The main goal was to see if a larger study is possible, and researchers also tracked blood iron levels over time.
