Custom stent grafts offer new hope for High-Risk aneurysm patients
NCT ID NCT07224230
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing whether doctors can modify existing stent grafts to treat complex aortic aneurysms in patients who are too high-risk for open surgery and don't qualify for standard devices. The custom grafts are tailored to each patient's anatomy and placed using a minimally invasive procedure through leg arteries. The trial will follow 15 participants for up to 5 years to check safety and effectiveness.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Physician-modified endograft (a custom-fitted stent graft device)
What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could offer a minimally invasive treatment option for patients with complex aortic aneurysms who currently have no good alternatives.
What could go wrong
This is a very small early study with only 15 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. There are risks of serious complications like device failure, aneurysm rupture, or organ damage.
