New hope for cancer Survivors' locked jaws: study tests Hands-On therapies

NCT ID NCT07151469

Summary

This study compared two different hands-on physical therapy techniques to help people who developed jaw pain, tightness, and limited mouth opening after radiation treatment for head and neck cancer. It involved 115 adult survivors who were at least 6 months past their radiation therapy. Researchers tested whether joint mobilization or a deep tissue muscle technique worked better to reduce pain, improve jaw movement, and enhance quality of life.
