First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing whether a personalized physical activity program can improve the quality of life for people with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) who are starting treatment with ibrutinib. The program includes 4 months of supervised exercise followed by 2 months of independent activity. Researchers will measure changes in well-being using standard questionnaires. The trial aims to enroll 180 participants in real-world clinic settings.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Individual Physical Activity Intervention (IPAI)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could show that a tailored exercise program helps people with CLL feel better and have a higher quality of life while on ibrutinib.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, early-stage study focused on quality of life, not on curing the disease. The benefits may vary widely between individuals, and the program requires motivation and access to technology.
