Texts and trackers: new study aims to get young cancer survivors moving
NCT ID NCT04765241
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a mobile health program can help adolescents and young adults (ages 15-39) who finished cancer treatment become more physically active. Participants get a personalized activity plan, a fitness tracker, access to an online survivor community, and motivational texts and calls. The goal is to see if these tools increase weekly exercise and improve sleep and quality of life over one year, with a final check at two years.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Physical activity program with activity tracker, online community, and text messages
What this could lead to
If it works, this could show that a simple mobile program helps young cancer survivors become more active and improve their health.
What could go wrong
This is a behavioral study, not a drug trial. Results depend on participants sticking with the program, and the effect may be small or not last long-term.
