Summary
This study tested whether trained volunteers could help reduce loneliness in older adults through regular phone calls. Volunteers taught simple mindfulness and activity-planning techniques to 251 participants aged 65 and over in Hong Kong. The goal was to see if this accessible, phone-based support could ease feelings of isolation and improve mental well-being.
