Simple drug infusion may stop shivering during C-Sections
NCT ID NCT07663149
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This trial tests whether giving a continuous infusion of phenylephrine (a drug that raises blood pressure) can prevent shivering after spinal anesthesia in women having a C-section. About 108 non-laboring women will be randomly assigned to receive either the phenylephrine infusion or no infusion. The main goal is to see if fewer women shiver during the surgery.
