Summary
This study tested whether a drug called sodium phenylbutyrate could lower a marker of kidney injury (Lcn2) in the urine of people with chronic kidney disease and proteinuria (excess protein in urine). 26 adults with stable kidney function took part. The goal was to see if the drug could reduce kidney damage, potentially slowing disease progression.
