Hospital Pharmacist's simple reminder slashes missed vaccine shots
NCT ID NCT04734925
Summary
This study tested whether a pharmacist could help more at-risk patients get vaccinated against serious pneumococcal infections (like pneumonia and meningitis) when leaving the hospital. Researchers enrolled 167 adult patients who were eligible for the vaccine but hadn't received it. They measured if a direct recommendation from a clinical pharmacist during hospital discharge led to more patients getting their needed vaccinations.
