New tool helps pharmacists decide who really needs antibiotics for bladder infections

Summary
This study tests whether a shared decision-making tool can help pharmacists and patients decide together when antibiotics are truly needed for uncomplicated bladder infections (cystitis). About 500 women with symptoms will take part. The goal is to reduce unnecessary antibiotic use while still treating those who need it.
