Virus vs. superbug: new weapon tested for cystic fibrosis lung infections
NCT ID NCT07280598
Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether adding a special virus treatment to standard antibiotics is safe and helpful for adults with cystic fibrosis who have hard-to-treat lung infections. Up to 30 participants will receive a 7-day course of antibiotics plus a custom-made cocktail of viruses that target their specific infection-causing bacteria. The main goal is to check for side effects, while also looking for early signs that the combination reduces bacteria in the lungs and improves breathing.
