Heart hole fix may ease severe migraines and boost brain power

NCT ID NCT07343154

Summary

This study aims to see if closing a small, common heart hole called a patent foramen ovale (PFO) can improve brain function and reduce severe migraines in adults. Researchers will follow 45 adults with frequent migraines and a PFO who are already scheduled for the closure procedure. They will use brain scans and tests to measure changes in brain activity, thinking skills, and migraine symptoms over one year after the procedure.
