First-of-its-Kind trial aims to detox firefighters from 'Forever Chemicals'

Summary

This study is testing if a common cholesterol drug, colesevelam, can help remove harmful PFAS chemicals from the body. It will involve 40 male firefighters from California who have high PFAS exposure. Participants will take the drug or a placebo for several months to see if it safely lowers their PFAS levels.
