Do 'Forever Chemicals' in water weaken your shots?

NCT ID NCT06588530

Summary

This study looked at whether exposure to PFAS chemicals, found in contaminated drinking water, affects how well the body responds to a tetanus-diphtheria booster shot. Researchers gave the vaccine to 20 adults from a community with known PFAS exposure and tracked their immune response over 30 days. The goal was to understand if these common environmental pollutants make vaccines less effective.
