New scan could personalize treatment for Tough-to-Treat abdominal cancer
NCT ID NCT06144853
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether a type of full-body scan (FDG-PET/CT) could be useful for patients with advanced abdominal cancer that has spread to the abdominal lining. Researchers wanted to see if these scans could help select the right patients for a specialized aerosol chemotherapy treatment (PIPAC) and then measure how well the treatment was working. The study involved 16 patients to gather initial data on whether this scanning approach is practical and informative.
